As with most vegans, the condition of our environment is close to my heart. From the materials in the tshirts, to the design of the tote bags, I’m working to reduce my impact, while still promoting veganism.

Bamboo fibres are the main ingredient in Sun & Sage clothing. Well, 70% bamboo, 30% cotton to be precise.

The mix gives our clothing a super lightweight, comfortable and strong. We think is as comfortable as you’re likely to find anywhere.

All clothing production leaves a footprint, and bamboo is no different. Benefits include not needing pesticides to grow bamboo (unlike cotton). However, the fibrous extraction is a fairly industrious process, so takes lots of energy.

It’s not perfect, but it is a step in the right direction.

I’m committed to ensuring I find more ethical materials though, such as using fully organic cotton in the kids clothing and increasing the usage of Tencel, widely accepted as the world’s most environmentally friendly material.

My tote bags use embroidery, with no dye whatsoever, so that impact is minimized. They’re also built to last and won’t fall apart.

Sun & Sage is 100% plastic free, and items are shipped in compostable, biodegradable Avani eco bags made from cassava.

To make things even better, our tshirts are produced to give everyone involved in a production a fair deal.

These are just some of the ways I’m trying to reduce my impact and I’ll keep on doing my best to evolve to cause the least impact possible. Thank you for supporting me in this process.
